Removal of trees from a Doctor Who Tardis

By | Recent work, Uncategorized | Comments

These images are of Removal of trees from the side of a Doctor Who tardis, and yes you did read this right and no it is not on a Doctor Who set but in a garden that is on the outskirts of Carmarthen near Llandyfaelog. However the tardis is a genuine prop from the Doctor Who set that was used in the 1960s and 70s that was purchased by the current owner, while working we were expecting the doctor to call or a Dalek pop out of the hedge.

The trees were right beside the tardis and had to be dismantled and lowered down carefully to avoid any damage to the tardis,it was an intricate and a time consuming job but well worth the experience,we can now say we worked for  Doctor Who.

We get called out for some unusual jobs but this is the most unusual to date, and no Daleks were harmed during the works. The tardis will stand for another forty years because no trees will fall onto it,which leads to a very happy customer.

Overhanging trees on the boundary line.

Overhanging trees on the boundary line.

This set of images shows the recent work we did on some overhanging trees on the boundary line of a house owned by the Church of Wales in Llandeilo. We were called out to assess the trees and it was agreed that the trees would be cut back and taken away from the boundary fence, both neighbours were in agreement of this.Tree Preservation Orders have to be checked before works can start, this can be done through the local council.

On the day of works,we had a treeclimber and two groundsmen on site to do the works, all the brash and wood was put in one of our trailers and taken away from the job.We made the site neat and tidy after the works were completed.

As a result both parties were extremely pleased with the works and will be using our services again,we have secured a contract with the Church of Wales for maintenance of their grounds as and when we are needed on any of their properties.

Conifer Tree Reduction

Conifer Tree Reduction.

This was a Conifer Tree Reduction, these are the most popular kind of trees we get called out to reduce.Customers tend to have planted the trees not realising that they can grow to a considerable height very quickly. They then become unmanageable and unsightly for the garden. When you cut into them there can be a lot of brash to deal with and take away.

The above trees were at a house in Trevaughan,Carmarthen bordering onto farmland,we had a climber in the trees plus three groundworkers to deal with the brash, the hedge had to be reduced by more than half the size,we had a woodchipper  on site to chip the smaller branches and the customer will recycle the woodchip to use on the shrub borders as mulch. The logs stayed on the ground as well for the wood burner that the customer has.He was pleased with the results of the job and will now be able to maintain the trees himself and keep them at a manageable size.

Hedge Reduction

Hedge Reduction.

The above photos are of a hedge reduction of a hazel and blackthorn hedge,it was overgrown and it was blocking the sunlight from getting to the garden which was quite dreary during the summer months,as a result of this the customer wanted it reduced by half,so we set to work to reduce it.

We took a day to do this,we used a chainsaw first to take the top part of the hedge out, then tidied up the rest with a hedge trimmer, all our staff are fully qualified to use this equipment and possess the required certificates,as you can see the hedge had a neat uniform shape and would be much easier to maintain in the future, plus the sunlight would be back in the garden all ready for some summer entertaining on the patio area. The customer was extremely pleased with the works and as a result we have acquired more work from the neighbouring properties.
